Ponies eclipse $100,000 mark in funds raised since 2012 when Tackle Cancer began

The St. Croix Valley supported another exceptional Ponies Football Tackle Cancer campaign in 2021.

Contributions came from VAA football teams in grades 3-8, high school teams in grades 9-12, the high school via the Third Period Challenge, some of the other schools in the district, and related events. Those events include Powderpuff Football, Cub Foods grocery bagging, Culver's, Lift Bridge Townie Tuesday, and more.

This effort raised $21,834 for the Minnesota Football Coaches Association Tackle Cancer campaign funding the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund. It brings the Stillwater Area total to $109,151.99 since Tackle Cancer began in 2012.

"Our community really believes in Tackle Cancer and continues to help the Randy Shave Cancer Research and Community Fund fight against this horrible disease," said Head Football Coach Beau LaBore.

Most years, Stillwater tries to emphasize tangible reasons for the cause. This year, you can view more about "why" in this video: Tackle Cancer Results

Prior to this year, Tackle Cancer had raised over $2.1 million through member schools from all over the state.

The Ponies Touchdown Club, which is the primary organizer of this initiative, thanks all who contributed.
