Saturday, October 9, was a busy day for the Ponies Football program, which included the TCO - Stillwater Grand Opening.

First, the JV put the finishing touches on a sweep of Forest Lake - Ninth Grade won 40-6, Sophomores won 35-24, and the varsity 37-7 - as they pulled off a 22-15 victory on the road.

Meanwhile, the varsity players watched film, lifted, and took a lunch break before heading to help open TCO - Stillwater. A state of the art facility, which serves as an orthopedic sports clinic with urgent care, includes individual and team training programs. The Ponies, along with several other programs and teams in the St. Croix Valley, tested in the vertical and broad jump and pro agility. The mini combine ended with a visit with Vikings Pro Bowl Defense End Danielle Hunter.

After, the seniors took a group picture with the Pony Truck at Pony Stadium. Moments later, all 9-12 players gathered, organized, and hit neighborhoods all over the Valley to drop donation bags off (they will be back on Tuesday to pick them up - please fill!). What a way to end a great week!

During the TCO Opening, Talk North Podcast performed a live show. Host Jim Souhan was joined by special guest Randy Shaver. The duo did two 30-minute segments, one with Ponies Head Football Coach Beau LaBore and another with Randy's son Ryan who helped direct the opening and Chris Hawkey of the KFAN Power Trip Morning Show.

Souhan, Shaver, and LaBore talked Friday Night Lights, playoffs and seeding in 6A, and Minnesota high school football. The this podcast was uploaded on Wednesday, 10-13-21 and can be found here: Talk North Podcast entitled "Shaver & Hawkey at TCO."

Ponies Football has benefitted from TCO's Dr. Andrea Saterbak working the sideline as an orthopedic doctor for decades. More recently, TCO added Ponies Athletic Trainer Mike Renfro to their team as TCO is now the official training sponsor for Stillwater Area High School. Finally, former Ponies captain and MVP Dr. Andrew Schmiesing '03 joined the sideline and the TCO team. TCO has been a dedicated All American Sponsor to the Ponies Touchdown Club as well.
