Award recognizes exemplary service to the organization

Head Football Coach Beau LaBore was presented with the Don Swanson Award at the Minnesota Football Coaches Association Awards Banquet on Friday, August 13, 2021.

According to the MFCA, “The Don Swanson Award represents exemplary service to the MFCA. It is presented annually to a member of our association who personifies what the late Don Swanson exemplified: unconditional service to and for football in Minnesota.”

LaBore has served MFCA in several ways: conference / sub-district rep since 2007, Community Service Award Chair and Executive Director's Committee since 2008, and the Tackle Cancer Board since 2012 when it began. LaBore was the 55th president of the association, serving 2019-2020.

“I am grateful for this recognition," LaBore said. "’Swannie was monumental to this organization. Serving this organization, working hard to be a Keeper of the Game, and working for coaching, players, and football has been fulfilling.

“I look forward to serving the MFCA for many years to come.”
