Summer sessions will be discussed at May 6 meeting

In preparation for the 2018 football season, incoming players in grades 7-12 are encouraged to sign up for summer Pony Football Camp and Pony Power and Performance (PPP). Pony Camp will feature football position skills and installation, while PPP is our school’s strength training program.  For more information, click PPP.

Both activities are delivered through the Stillwater Community Education program, with the Pony Camp operated by Ponies football coaches. Here are links to learn about and sign up for the two programs: Pony Power and Performance (PPP) and Pony Football Camp.

When signing up, please note that the PPP and Football Camp dates and times are different for grades 7-8, grades 9-10, and grades 11-12. There will be no sessions during the Minnesota State High School League's mandated No-Contact Weeks (July 2-July 6) and the week before football starts (August 6-August 10).

We have scheduled the two programs to be back-to-back for the convenience of players and families and because we believe short workouts throughout the summer are beneficial.

For Pony Football Camp, each session will have coaches teaching at every position each day. The fees for this camp go toward rental of the fields, the camp T-shirt, and paying each coach to work the camp. As strength is the foundation for our athletes to grow, develop, and improve athletically, PPP is very strongly recommended for our football players.

With very few exceptions, varsity players will not have any PPP or football responsibilities after noon on any day, and no responsibilities on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. This schedule should eliminate conflicts with other sports.

Our Pony Football Camps comply with the MSHSL rules for summer practices. The varsity will conduct some padded sessions to start and end the summer.

Note that you can see all of these events on the calendar on this site. Just click Calendar or 'calendar' tab, and be sure to use the tag for your 2018 grade level.
