Pony Performance is the summer strength training and conditioning program for all Stillwater Public Schools athletes entering grades 7-12. There are six 90 minute sessions at Stillwater Area High School during June and July.

Strength and conditioning is a vital component in the success of all athletes and teams. A commitment to strength and conditioning, along with proper nutrition and rest, will: reduce an athlete's chance of injury; improve physical abilities; and develop character, pride, and unity within athletes, teams, and the school. Making an individual and team commitment to strength and conditioning is a necessary and powerful step toward athletic achievement.

Pony Performance program seeks to develop all of the vital components involved in achieving excellence in athletic performance. This program ensures proper technique of all lifters – novice, experienced, and everyone in between – while pushing participants to and beyond their personal and athletic thresholds.

Primary Goals of Pony Power and Performance:
1. Reduce the likelihood and severity of injury.
2. Stimulate overall athletic abilities and strength.
3. Improve character and mental toughness.

Athletic Development Profile:
• Strength and explosive power
• Speed, agility, and quickness (SAQ)
• Linear and lateral speed and explosiveness, deceleration, and acceleration
• Increase stamina to perform at the highest level
• Nutrition, rest, and recovery

We believe that any athlete will make improvements during our summer program despite its short duration. Ideally this program is the beginning, or an extension, of an athlete’s commitment to strength and conditioning. An athlete who commits in junior high and continues through his or her high school career will be in excellent shape to compete for one of Minnesota’s most successful high school athletic systems: The Stillwater Ponies.

SAHS has partnered with ETS Performance to offer a cutting edge program year-round. ETS is a locally owned company that specializes in strength and conditioning, injury prevention and nutrition services. Created in 2010, ETS has trained over 15,000 athletes, 350 Division I and II athletes, and 100 professional athletes. ETS currently works with several other high schools in the metro area, as a result all of their programming in all sports has improved since bringing ETS on board.

A schedule and signups for summer sessions will be posted at goponies.org.
