Coach Kevin Klancher
Coach Kevin Klancher is from Stillwater, MN and is a graduate of Stillwater Area High School and has a BA from the University of North Dakota and a M.Ed. from St. Mary's University. Coach Klancher and his wife, Rachel, have three children, Julia, Lauren, and Brynne. Coach Klancher lives in Lake Elmo, MN. Coach Klancher serves as 9th grade assistant coach and teaches Social Studies at Stillwater Area High School. The 2024 season marks his 27th year coaching in the district and 27th year overall.

Coach Klancher was a captain and All-State quarterback for the Ponies. He was an All-Conference basketball player and named Academic All-State. Coach Klancher played baseball as well. He went on to be a captain and record-setting quarterback for the UND Fighting Sioux. Coach Klancher is at 2012 inductee to the St. Croix Valley Athletic Association Hall of Fame.
One of the biggest influences on Coach Klancher in football was George Thole. “He had a significant impact on me because he was the ultimate motivator and got the most out of his players and teams. Coach Thole taught me how to compete and win in the game of football and life.”
Coach Klancher’s best memory of Stillwater football took place his senior year. “My senior year we beat Anoka on the road. After the game we had the honor of presenting Coach ‘Sam’ (Joe Samuelson) with the game ball. Because of his diabetes, he recently had his toes amputated and we admired his toughness. Coach Sam meant a lot to the team and was a very positive influence on Ponies football.”
