2011 Program Improvements

Spending

The Ponies Touchdown Club was not created until 2012. Nevertheless, improvements were made in 2011 under Coach LaBore in his first year.

The primary fundraiser for the Stillwater football program is the Pony Card sale. The 2011 sale was an incredible success. We significantly raised our expectations and accountability for this effort and our players answered the call. We grossed three times the average amount earned in recent seasons. The funds were primarily spent on the following:

  • Funded junior high programs by adding one coach to each grade (7-9) at each school.
  • Funded additional 10-12 grade football coaches.
  • Annual purchase of footballs, decals, and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Assisted the program with day to day costs which essentially “nickel and dimes” our program.
  • Purchased video camera and a DVD duplication tower.
  • Replaced our ailing end zone tripod and sideline-to-press box headphones which both failed in the Woodbury and White Bear Lake games. While we knew they were old and ailing, we thought we could make it through the season. In the end, we could not risk failure any further. A rush delivery and a $15,000 expense was sustained before we took the field in week three.
  • Large blocking dummies for offensive line use.
  • Installation of a white board and ceiling mount hardware in the coaches office.
