This delay of game did not result in a 5-yard penalty, but the entertainment on the field was replaced by Stillwater's lively pep band on Friday when a power outage knocked the lights out for about 15 minutes late in the fourth quarter at Pony Stadium. Lights returned in the press box soon after the power outage, but the field remained dark for more than 15 minutes.

"That was a weird situation. I'm just glad it wasn't during a play," Ponies quarterback Nate Ricci said. "I've never had that happen before."

There was only 1:50 remaining in the game, but the outcome was still undecided with Woodbury holding some timeouts and the Ponies facing a second-and-9. After the lights came back on, Stillwater ran three more plays before kneeling on the ball to run out the final seconds.

"I was kind of upset because with a 1:50 left you just want to drive it in, you know," senior captain Zach Krenz said. "People were saying maybe we'd have to play tomorrow, which nobody wanted to do. That would have been terrible. I'm really glad we got it in."

He wasn't the only one who wanted to see the game finish on Friday night.

"To be honest, I was thinking I had to deal with this Woodbury-Stillwater transition for six months and I was not excited that I was going to have to deal with it for another 20 or 21 hours or whatever we would have done," Ponies coach Beau LaBore said. "It was an interesting experience, not something that most people have ever been a part of, but the lights came back and we had our focus."
