The Stillwater Pony mascot finally has a name: Pride!

The Stillwater football team was first given the Ponies nickname in 1926; the Ponies logo was created in 1971; but it wasn't until the Homecoming game on October 4, 2013 that the Pony mascot was officially given a name.

The activities office, led by atheltic director Ricky Michel and assistant Jacki Delahunt, convened their student assistants and regular visitors to determine a name. Andrew Schneider, a junior and big supporter of the Ponies, was a key contributor to the discussion.

The group wanted the name to start with the letter P (to relate closely to Ponies) and they determined that Pride was the way to go.
