Ponies Send Three to Compete for the North All Stars

The Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Football Coaches Association are proud to announce the 50th Minnesota High School Football All-Star Game. This event celebrates the best players in the state of Minnesota and will be held at U.S. Bank Stadium on Dec. 2, 2023. Kickoff is at 1:00pm CST.

The Ponies are sending two players and one assistant coach to compete for the North All Stars who seek to end a winning streak by the South.

Ponies senior captain Tanner Schmidt, fresh off of being named the team’s Most Valuable Player in 2023, will line up at wide receiver. On the other side of the ball, Ponies Defensive MVP Bryce Rosewicz will play nose tackle. Both players were integral to the Ponies winning the Metro East Sub-District and Class 6A Section Championships this fall.

Joining our players is offensive line coach Darrell Salmi who just completed his 29th year coaching football for the Ponies. Salmi was a recipient of the Butch Nash Award in 2018 from the MFCA which recognizes assistant coaches who have played prominent roles in their school’s football program over at least 15 years. Salmi will coach the North offensive line.

Good luck to our Ponies and the North All Stars!
