Please take notice of the latest information

Before sharing information below, please know we are trying to give our players the best possible football experience. Under the restrictions, that makes organization challenging. Our hope is that we can have two solid weeks of football experience, not disrupt weight room activities much, and keep moving toward a successful spring.

Topics: Registration, equipment handout, schedules, Pony Performance during football, and Pony Cards

Registration:

Registration for football is required to be issued equipment - no exceptions. Please ensure that you address that immediately to avoid any issues. Register at SmartSchoolk-12.

Equipment Handout:

Equipment handout was scheduled for two days to make the handout convenient for students. There is a slight adjustment to the message shared by the Captain Parents on Tuesday. Get your equipment the day you are in school.

Sept 10th - 2:30-3:30 PM - equipment handout for those on the B schedule

Sept 11th - 2:30-3:30 PM - equipment handout for those on the A schedule

Those players on the C schedule can pick up either day.

Players not at school should enter Door 4W and go to the wrestling gym. Players will be issued a helmet, shoulder pads, and practice jersey. Monday, September 14 is helmet only. All other days, players should bring all three items.

Schedules:

Fall practices will start on September 14 and run through September 24 from 2:30 PM - 5:00 PM. The last practice will be held on September 25th, and fans are NOT allowed. The scrimmages will be recorded and you can watch.

Players in 10-12 grade will spend a lot of the practice time together. We believe this benefits the sophomore players.

10th-12th Grade Schedules:

If you are in the building at 2:10 PM, report to the locker room to change for practice. If you are not in the building, you may access the locker room, but you are also encouraged to go directly to the practice field. IF you choose to use the locker room, follow the Activity Office directions:

You may enter SAHS at 2:10PM.

-Enter via Door 4W.

-Students entering SAHS must wear a mask.

-If you are in school at SAHS until 2:10 PM, you will have access to the locker room at 2:10 PM to change.

-Locker rooms will be open for those who have to change.

-If you plan to leave items in the locker room during practice – you must provide your own lock.  Locker rooms will not be supervised or secured during practice times.

-Items may not be left in the locker rooms overnight.  Locker rooms will be cleaned using a sanitation spray system throughout the entire locker room and inside lockers.

9th Grade Schedule:

Buckle up for some details! To get our full staff to practice, we need to delay practice briefly. Therefore, this is the schedule we need ninth graders to follow:

-If you are in the building until 2:10 PM, you should report to Mr. Klancher’s room, E126. You will be dismissed at 2:45 PM to the locker room for practice.

-If you are not in the building, we urge you to come directly to the field for practice. IF you must use the locker room on a day you are not in the building, follow the directions below.

-If you are in Pony Performance on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:15 PM, you should report directly to the weight room at 2:15 PM. You will be dismissed early for practice. If you are in the second session, you will miss your sessions. We apologize for that reality.

-Freshman practice will start at 3:15 PM on the practice field. It will end at 5:00 PM.

Entering the building for practice directions:

-You may enter SAHS at 2:10 PM.

-Enter via Door 4W.

-Students entering SAHS must wear a mask.

-If you are in school at SAHS until 2:10 PM, you will have access to the locker room at 2:45 PM to change.

-Locker rooms will be open for those who have to change.

-If you plan to leave items in the locker room during practice – you must provide your own lock.  Locker rooms will not be supervised or secured during practice times.

-Items may not be left in the locker rooms overnight.  Locker rooms will be cleaned using a sanitation spray system throughout the entire locker room and inside lockers each night.

Pony Performance during Football:

We will get each 10-12 player two in-season lift opportunities each week. We are not capable of anymore due to pod sizes of 25, after school scheduling in the weight room, and PAC scheduling in the evening. That means a Pony Performance athlete in 11-12 grade will miss two lifts out of the six scheduled - for that we apologize.

Pony Cards:

We will issue Pony Cards at equipment handout. This fundraiser is essential to our football program and must take place. We know there are some challenges to this fundraiser. A new personal text message function is available for players to sell cards with a debit or credit card which allows for less transactions and remote sales to friends, families, and others. Please help us continue this successful fundraiser. People all over the district have been asking for these cards via email and the activities office and our community is ready to support us! An informational guide will be given to each player.
