Ponies All-Time Leading Rusher

Zach Knox is now the Ponies all-time leading rusher. The senior running back made history in Stillwater's section championship loss to Totino-Grace on Friday, October 31, 2014. Knox gained 74 yards on 16 carries, for a total of 3,079 career rushing yards. He surpassed the previous record holder, all-state running back Aaron Runk, who had 3,028 career rushing yards from 1993 - 1995.

Knox broke the all-time rushing record despite being forced to sit out two games this season because of an injury. He also set a record for all-time carries with 570, breaking Runk's record of 500.

Knox is no stranger to the Ponies record book. As a sophomore in 2102, he set the record for number of carries in a game with 48 against Hastings. Last season, he racked up 1,547 rushing yards season on a school record 294 carries. Knox also set the team’s single-game rushing record with 294 yards against White Bear Lake, breaking the previous record of 290 rushing yards set by Pat Juhl in 1979. Knox owns four of the top six single-game rushing totals in school history. With rushes last year for 265 yards against Mounds View and 250 yards against Hastings, Knox owns four of the top six single-game rushing totals in school history.

He will also enter the record books for total points scored (rush/pass/xpt), total offense, and all purpose yards.
