Ponies football players put their muscles to good use at Valley Outreach food shelf on Tuesday, April 2. The boys were a powerhouse, moving thousands of pounds of food in just a few hours. During that time the players unloaded about 3/4 of a semi-truck full of food and other items and then helped sort it.

“What an impressive group! I don’t think I’ve seen a group move that much food that fast! Their teamwork, and muscle, was such a great help to us - there is no way we could have unloaded an entire 50’ truck with almost 4 tons of food without them - and in record time I might add!” said Liz Stone, Food Shelf Director at Valley Outreach.

Among the players who attended: David Peterson, Joe Knapp, Ryan Peltier, Oliver O'Keefe, Peter Palecek, Mitch Schertz, Jordan Phelps, Zach Knox, Johnny Randazzo, Josh Markert, Cal Rorabeck, Trevor Tillett, Jake Olson, Caleb Fick, Ryan Floen, Mark Houle, and Ben Gualtieri.

Parents Eric and Patti Olson organized the service project. The player volunteers were organized by the 2013 captains: Olson, Peterson, Schertz, and Tillett.
